Biography:

When looking back at one's life one normally would try to find a better word to suit it other than 'boring'. Maybe 'impressive' or perhaps 'successful'. However, there really wasn't anything else for it.

Kikumaru Eiji led a normal, boring life. (At least in his opinion.)

Being the youngest out of the Kikumaru's five children Eiji was born into high (and almost impossible) expectations. This became apparent once the bright (yet not as bright) red head entered his school years and began bringing home less-than-perfect grades. B's were rewarded with tongue-lashings, and Eiji didn't even want to imagine what he would be rewarded with if he ever received anything lower.

By his 11th year Eiji had realized that he would never dazzle his family with top scoring grades as his elder siblings had done, and instead turned to something else. Sports. Sports he excelled at where the rest of his family had floundered. In one years time he had made a name for himself with his excellence in the area of the pole vault and high jump, and a few months later he had finally won over some respect in Gymnastics.

Yet for all he had accomplished grades still meant the most to his family, and so Eiji made sure that he achieved A's in each and every subject, resorting to almost any method to do so. And eventually his hard work paid off in the form of an envelope, an invitation.

In a matter of seconds Eiji went from being the least loved in his family to their most cherished possession.

The only thing he's worried about is how long it will last. Surely the tests in a boarding school will be more difficult than tests in your average junior high.

Personality:

At first glance one would think of Eiji as a happy-go-lucky teenager who's only goal is to make friends, goof off, and play pranks. However, giving a closer look to the red head one would see that he is strongly driven by a want to impress people by any means possible (be that pulling off an incredible stunt or being top of the class in grade checks).

Upon an even deeper look people would discover that Eiji is anything but the happy-go-lucky person he appears - in fact a polar opposite. Eiji constantly berates himself, striving to do better and better, driven by a secret self-loathing fueled by years of conditioning.

This, however, doesn't make Eiji a bad person. Quite the contrary. Eiji endeavors to find the best in everybody (because he simply cannot find it within himself). He is possibly the best friend a person could ever have, standing by them through thick and thin.
